Training Manager

Position Summary: As our facility transitions and expands into new product lines, the Training Manager will be responsible for the creation, oversight and delivery of comprehensive training programs for all types of positions at SRUSA.

Reports to: Talent Manager

Essential Functions/Duties:

  • Develop, implement and conduct training programs designed to support the organizations overall strategy and business objectives.

  • Evaluate vendors, consultants or service providers to best fill training needs through outside resources.

  • Partner with functional leaders to assess learning needs and establish effective training programs for their departments.

  • Create, implement and administer online learning modules, live web-based training sessions, instructor led training courses, on the job training and all supporting materials such as handbooks, manuals, tutorials, visual aids, etc.

  • Evaluate training programs to determine customer satisfaction and effectiveness. Make adjustments as needed.

  • Research and remain current on developments in the training and learning industry including equipment, training aides, presentation techniques and equipment, adult learning methodology and other related topics.

  • Establish and adhere to the budget for the training department, evaluate the department’s effectiveness and efficiency and strive for continuous improvement.

  • Manage hourly Training Coordinators, Labor Trainers and the hourly training process.

  • Assist in new hire orientation, onboarding, training and facilitate new hire testing.

  • Assist in the selection, development and use of assessment tools or tests.

 

Required Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • BS or higher in Instructional Design, Human Resources, Organizational Design, Industrial Psychology, Education, or similar field.

  • 5+ years of experience developing and implementing training programs and curriculum.

  • Must possess excellent knowledge of learning theories, instructional design models and adult education.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of course development software and proficient administration of Learning Management Systems.

  • Must possess excellent communication, analytical and problem solving skills.

  • Strong technical aptitude and the ability to translate and teach complex technical processes, specialized topics and information.

  • Must be able to manage multiple priorities.

  • Experience in a manufacturing and union environment is highly preferred.

  • Flexibility in schedule availability is required to support continuous operations, including nights and weekends.
