Manager, Corporate Accounting

Position Summary: Responsible for managing the corporate accounting function, including oversight of accounting practices (reporting, analysis, etc.) and personnel.

Reports to: Manager, Corporate Finance

Essential Functions/Duties:

  • Manage departmental activities to ensure accurate and timely accounting, financial and statistical reports, filings and data.

  • Analyze and review complex accounting and financial transactions for monthly internal and external reporting, providing recommendation through data to Executives.

  • Develop methods and criteria for measuring and summarizing data for complex analyses.

  • Maintain and review various system reconciliations between source systems and financial and operational reporting processes.

  • Lead and manage special projects that may necessitate cross-functional partnerships

  • Approves and oversees account reconciliations. Resolves reconciling items on a timely basis.

  • Oversees the preparation and submission of the monthly consolidation package for North America (4 entities).

  • Provides support to PWC (external tax service provider).

  • Manages and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department, including the work of staff accountants, advising staff regarding the handling of non-routine reporting transactions as needed.

  • Oversees timely preparation of “Prepared By Client” lists for External CPA firm.

  • Assists with Company’s JSOX program.

  • Responsible for the Company’s adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

  • Responsible for the Company’s adherence to International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).

  • Evaluates, recommends and controls modifications to accounting systems, chart of accounts and other practices to meet the needs of SRUSA, Industry trends and accounting practices.

  • Works with financial and other functional managers to develop financial systems that will continuously improve the financial analysis and reporting for the organization.

  • Oversee the compilation and submission of necessary information as it relates to requests made by SRI Japan, external auditing firms and/or government agencies.

  • Conducts special accounting studies and cost analysis as requested.

 

Required Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Undergraduate degree in accounting, finance or other business field is required; CPA and/or an MBA or advanced degree is desirable.

  • Minimum 7 - 10 years of accounting and/or financial analysis experience.

  • 3-5 years of process and/or people Management experience strongly preferred.

  • Experience working for a national CPA firm is required.

  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Suite and SAP software, with advanced Excel skills.

  • Demonstrated coaching, interpersonal, and communication skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities simultaneously.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of SOX and GAAP.
