Position Summary: Responsible for the control and coordination of all activities with respect to shipping, receiving and warehousing of tires. Create culture of continuous improvement to promote lean and efficient processes. Lead CI initiatives within the warehouse with a sense of urgency. Review and evaluate warehouse budget requirements for capital expenditures, labor, operations, etc. Assure budget objectives are met. Act as liaison between contract company (Robinson) SRUSA and SRNA warehouse activities. Ownership of SAP system and information related to shipping (WM module, customer masters, EDI monitoring etc.)

* Monitoring of some outsourced functions.

Reports to: Manufacturing Control Manager

Essential Functions/Duties:

  • Ensure the warehouse works safely every day.

  • Lead with a “customer first” mentality meeting the goal of 100% customer fil each month, with no customer complaints.

  • Lead performance and set objectives of the warehouse staff to ensure delivery goals are being met.

  • Monitor and control costs related to the warehouse including labor, materials and equipment.

  • Create and implement long-term vision strategies for the operation that support plant and corporate objectives.

  • Monitoring warehousing, internal receiving and inventory control of finished tires.

  • * Ensures the timely issuance and accuracy of various operations’ reports such as Operations’ report, overtime report, and inbound discrepancies report. (measure and track Pounds per linear foot, Shipment Errors – parts per million, Cost per Unit, Cost per Hundred Weight, Total Spend, Engineering Spend, Transport Damage, Aged Inventory and Slow Moving, Stock, Cycle Count Accuracy)

  • * Work closely with Production Finishing Departments to ensure timely and accurate production credit delivery to Plant.

  • * Investigates and create counter measures for all discrepancy claims.

  • Makes recommendations to Manager regarding improved policies and procedures.

  • Develop/implement best practices for inventory accuracy, FIFO, space utilization, minimizing stock movement, labor optimization, product flow from production, shipping accuracy, OE process streamlining, Cost reduction)

  • Implement policies/procedures that ensure adherence/compliance with all SOX throughout all Warehouse operations

  • Develop auditing system to ensure 3PL’s are meeting all contractual obligations / metrics

  • Development and deployment of our SAP Warehouse management system

  • Coordinates holding product for freeze or physical floor checks for inventory when in question. Works with Plant Works Technical to control freeze product – provides reports used to determine any and all freeze product movement and liability.

  • * Ensures the preparation and maintenance of all warehouse/distribution records.

  • Conducts special projects and assists immediate supervisor as requested
  • Is committed to and promotes Excellence Through Teamwork throughout the organization.

Required Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • BS/BA Business Administration, Engineering, Industrial Engineering or related field; relevant work experience in lieu of degree
  • 5-10 years supervisory experience in an industrial warehouse environment or appropriate related experience; preferably within the tire industry.

  • Excellent written & verbal interpersonal communication skills

  • Strong mechanical aptitude.

  • Solid analytical aptitude; specifically as it applies to problem resolution skills

  • Demonstrate effective planning skills and knowledge of plant & warehouse processes.

  • Strong PC skills utilizing Microsoft Word and Excel software applications
